  • Kingston, Friday, July 9, 2010: At a gala dinner in London last night, Euromoney announced the winners of its Awards for Excellence – the most prestigious awards in the global banking industry. The dinner was attended by 450 of the leading bankers and investment bankers from around the world.

    Scotiabank Jamaica was awarded the title of Best Bank in Jamaica, and is the only Scotiabank location in Latin America and the Caribbean to receive an award this year.

  • - House Students from two Previous Schools in New Ground Clarendon

    On Thursday July 9, 2010 Scotiabank Jamaica and Food For The Poor officially handed over the newly built Alexandria Hope Basic School, to the community of New Ground Clarendon. The school was constructed on April 16 by Scotia Volunteers and Food for the Poor in an intense one day work venture on April 16, 2010 in New Ground. The school will house 50 students who were previously from two basic schools which were housed in two extremely dilapidated structures.

  • - Grants 10 new scholarships to West Kingston Students

    The Scotiabank Jamaica Foundation will this year be granting $11,385,000 in Scotia Foundation Shining Star Scholarship to 26 new outstanding GSAT students to finance their education over their high school life. The scholarships will fund their tuition fees and other academic expenses as a reward for their excellent performance in the recent March examinations. These scholars will join another 102 existing scholars in the Scotia Foundation Scholars Club.

    Locksley Wallace, a 19 year old resident of the Central Village community is a true testimony that hard work, dedication and determination does pay off. This 2nd year chemical engineering student of Kettering University in Michigan is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering while working at JPS as an intern.
