  • [Wednesday, April 24, 2013] The eighth staging of the JCA-Scotiabank Prep School Cricket Competition was launched today at the Lucas Cricket Club in Kingston. With a sponsorship of $3M this year, 660 boys and girls across the island will have the opportunity to learn about the game, develop their skills, and in some cases get their first taste of competitive cricket.

  • [Thursday, April 11, 2013] Scotiabank has won the 2013 Best Emerging Markets Bank in Jamaica award from the Global Finance Magazine, a leading trade publication. Grouped within the Latin American region category, Scotiabank is one of 25 regional banks and one of six in the English-Speaking Caribbean, to have won this recognition.

    The award is the result of the Bank’s performance for fiscal 2012 in key areas such as: total assets, asset growth, market share, return on equity, earnings, competitive performance, and key developments within the period.

    The Jamaica Netball Association (JNA) received a much-needed $2-million boost from Scotiabank which will go towards assisting their Under-21 team to prepare for the Youth Netball Championships, which will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, in August.

    Shelly Sykes-Coley, sponsorship manager of Scotiabank, whose company is the main sponsor of the Under-13 and -16 teams, said her company is committed to the development of the sport.
